Uniontown
On a meandering highway in the Palouse that connects Pullman and Lewiston, an artisan bakery, gothic church and old-fashioned saloon often pull visitors out of their cars in Uniontown; but it’s the vintage Dahmen barn surrounded by more than 1,000 wagon wheels that makes travelers remember this historic farming community. Artisans at the Dahmen Barn is located along highway 195 in Uniontown in the heart of the Palouse country. This landmark structure is just sixteen miles south of Pullman. Drop in and see creativity in action. Originally a dairy barn, the renovated 3 story structure now has 19 artists working out of 10 studios, plus a retail shop with art and craft items created by nearly 100 regional artists. Performing arts events, a monthly art exhibit, classes for all ages and dances are regularly scheduled. No daily admission fee. Fully handicap accessible. Thursday – Sunday, 10 am to 6 pm with early closure at 4 pm January and February. Information: www.ArtisanBarn.org or 509-229-3414.
