Originally named Eureka Gulch, Republic, Washington is a small city reminiscent of the turn of the century and enjoys a heritage based in the mining and logging industries. Surrounded by national forest and located between Wauconda and Sherman Passes, it is known for its fossils, natural beauty and recreational possibilities including hunting, fishing, bird watching, bicycling, hiking, snow shoeing, cross country skiing, boating, motorized recreational sports and fossil digging.
