Pacific Beach
Pacific Beach is a dainty coastal community just 18-miles north of Ocean Shores. Beach combers love Pacific Beach State Park, a 10-acre expanse with opportunities for camping, sand-castle building, wildlife watching and kite flying.
Intimate bed and breakfasts, inns and cottages cater to travelers in the Washington beach town, which can be a convenient home base for day trips to the Lake Quinault and Kalaloch and Ruby Beach areas of Olympic National Park.
The city’s restaurants are known for delicious fresh-caught seafood, including crab, razor clams and salmon. Try the Pacific Beach razor clam—breaded, fried and served with lemon aioli—at Mill 109; or the fried oysters and fish and chips at Sea Gate.
Notable Pacific Beach events include the Kelper's Festival and Shake Rat Rendezvous (the area’s loggers are called Shake Rats), Wind Kite Festival, and S’mores and Sandcastle Contest, all of which take place in September.
