Federal Way

Boasting eight miles of spectacular Puget Sound waterfront, Federal Way is centrally located in the southwestern corner of King County.  Situated 25 miles south of Downtown Seattle and eight miles north of Downtown Tacoma, the city occupies approximately 22 square miles of a plateau between Puget Sound and the Green River Valley.

Splash around with the kids at local water and amusement park, or lengthen your stroke at the Olympic size swimming pool at Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center. For a more relaxing afternoon, stop and smell the roses at Federal Way’s unique Rhododendron Species Botanical Garden and Pacific Rim Bonsai Collection. And be sure to save enough time in the evening to shop and dine at the city’s largest indoor shopping center.

Plus, the city’s expansive parks provide picturesque venues for picnics, hiking, sports and boating.  The 12-acre Dumas Bay Centre park is nestled right along Puget Sound, with a view of the rugged Olympic Mountains.  Also, stroll the 3,301 feet of saltwater shoreline at Dash Point State Park or hike the wetland trails at West Hylebos Wetlands Park.
