Ethel

Postmaster General William F. Vilas named Ethel in 1886. No one knows why. A residential area located about seven miles east of Interstate 5 on the White Pass Highway, Ethel is a crossroads, with a grocery store, drive-in, beauty shop, post office, rock shop, small businesses, logging outfit and substation of the Salkum volunteer fire department.
