Bainbridge Island
A scenic 35-minute ferry ride from downtown Seattle shuttles visitors to Bainbridge Island, a 28-square-mile isle with picturesque harbors, 53 miles of rocky shoreline and hills blanketed with firs and cedars.

Bainbridge Island restaurants to consider include Sunrise Drive’s Via Rosa 11, loved by locals for its authentic Italian, and Harbour Public House, where marina views complement pub grub and seafood dishes. Be sure to save room for dessert. The historic downtown area, home to an assortment of intimate boutiques, cafes and eateries, has several delicious sweetshops. Favorites include J’aime Les Crepes and Mora Iced Creamery.
The exquisite splendor of the Pacific Northwest is on display at The Bloedel Reserve, a 150-acre public garden and forest preserve. Spy the resident beaver at the bird refuge, capture postcard-worthy panoramas of Puget Sound and the Cascade Mountains and admire the Japanese and moss gardens.
